Tyra Banks Wants Taylor Swift & Idris Elba To Star In ‘The Bodyguard’ Remake
Tyra Banks is throwing two big names into the mix for the The Bodyguard remake: Taylor Swift and Idris Elba.
Appearing on Today with Jenna & Friends, Tyra reacted to the news that Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour director Sam Wrench is set to direct the reboot of the 1992 classic. “I’m so beyond excited. That movie is everything,” she said. “I think Taylor Swift, ‘cause business and commerce, art… she would freakin’ sell like crazy.”

She continued,
“Okay, I’m just gonna be real. I’m a Black girl, it was Whitney Houston as a Black girl, Kevin Costner as a White man. What if we flipped it and it was Taylor Swift and Idris Elba? Hot!”
When asked why she wouldn’t take on the lead role herself, she responded,
“Hell no. We need somebody that can really sing.”
Swift and Elba previously worked together on Cats, and Elba told Variety, “
She [Taylor] worked hard and was just happy to be there.”
