TDE’s Punch Reveals Kendrick Lamar Removed Harmful Drake Disses From Original ‘Euphoria’ Track Before Release
TDE president Punch claims Kendrick Lamar toned down the original version of “Euphoria,” saying it was “definitely longer than the version that the world got.”
Speaking with Curtiss King, he revealed,
“There was a lot of stuff that didn’t make it on there…There was just some things in there that I didn’t think would have been beneficial in the long run to put in there. So I gave him my input on that or whatever and he took some of those things off.”
Punch also reflected on Kendrick Lamar’s now-infamous verse on “Like That,” saying, “It had been bubbling for a while. We had been pretty close-mouthed about it.”
He recalled telling Kendrick Lamar, “‘It’s going down?’ He said, ‘Yeah, we’ll see what’s up.’”
Meanwhile, Drake’s legal team claims UMG defamed him, citing Kendrick’s Super Bowl show as having “revitalized the public’s attention” to lyrics branding Drake a “certified p*dophile.”
