Ecuadorian Soccer Player Jackson Rodríguez Reportedly Hid Under Bed While Wife & Daughter Were Abducted
Ecuadorian soccer star Jackson Rodríguez is pleading for the safe return of his wife and young child after they were reportedly kidnapped from their home.
According to ESPN, the 26-year-old’s wife and 5-year-old daughter were taken from their residence in Guayaquil early Wednesday morning (April 23). Rodríguez told police he hid under a bed as the terrifying scene unfolded.
He claimed to have heard the masked, armed men interrogating his wife about his whereabouts after breaking into the home around 3 a.m. and tearing the place apart in search of him.

After the intruders left, Rodríguez said he looked out the window and saw them driving off in a gray double-cab pickup truck. As of now, police have not released any official updates about the abduction.
This comes just days after a state of emergency was declared in several parts of Ecuador, including Guayaquil, due to escalating organized crime. Officials have warned of a surge in violent deaths and kidnappings tied to criminal networks as Guayaquil is considered a major port and drug trafficking hub.
We’re praying Jackson’s family is safely returned.
