Birdman Says Every Rapper Who Left Cash Money Was ‘Never Successful’ Without Him
Birdman said what he said.
During a conversation on Nick Cannon’s podcast, the music exec spoke on how artists who leave him never find success on their own:
“Every n*gga that left me, was never successful without me. I love them. I got nothing but respect for them. I’m not ever speaking negative… but I studied this game. Every one of them that left me, never been successful without me.”

Nick added that some artists tend to blame the person who signed them when their careers stall — and Birdman agreed, noting that when a label has a face like Cash Money, the criticism can hit harder than it would with more faceless corporations.
Birdman co-founded Cash Money Records in 1991. The New Orleans-based label helped launch the careers of artists like Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga.
