Kamala Harris’ Controversial “60 Minutes” Interview Earns ‘Outstanding Editing’ Emmy Nomination Amid Trump’s $20 Billion Lawsuit
The “60 Minutes” interview that sparked one of Donald Trump’s biggest lawsuits is now up for an Emmy. ?
The segment, which featured then-presidential candidate Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz during the 2024 election cycle, reportedly earned a nod in the Outstanding Edited Interview category at the 46th News & Documentary Emmy Awards.

But while the Academy’s praising the editing, others are calling it something else entirely. In response to the nomination, White House comms director Steven Cheung to Fox News Digital stated:
“Of course it’s nominated for best editing because it takes some serious talent to edit Kamala’s answer into something that’s coherent and understandable, which in the end they still failed to do,”
As we reported back in November, Trump filed a massive $10 billion lawsuit (since increased to $20 billion) against CBS News and Paramount Global, accusing the network of election interference for how they aired the Harris interview.
The suit claimed CBS knowingly edited out key moments from the interview they felt would weaken Harris approval with voters and replaced them with more polished soundbites during the primetime broadcast.
This triggered an FCC investigation, and CBS eventually had to hand over the raw interview—which confirmed some of the complaints raised in Trump’s suit.
At this time the lawsuit remains in mediation, and reports indicate that a settlement could be on the table soon. CBS insiders say the vibe at the network is tense, with staff fearing what a deal might mean for journalistic credibility.
“Nobody knows the next shoe that will drop,” one source told Fox.
What are your thoughts on the interview getting an emmy nod while Trump’s lawsuit is still ongoing?
