Michael Strahan Joins Billionaire Businessman To Pursue Minority Ownership Of New York Giants
Michael Strahan is making major moves off the field, and possibly back into Giants territory!
According to sources close to the deal, the former New York Giants legend has teamed up with billionaire investor Marc Lasry to buy a piece of the team.
Reports state that about 10% of the Giants is up for sale, marking it as a minority ownership stake. The Mara and Tisch families, longtime owners of the franchise, are reportedly looking to sell to a small group of wealthy individuals and families, not private equity firms.

One insider claimed that Strahan’s former teammate Eli Manning was in early talks to bid but ultimately passed due to conflicts with other business ventures.

The Giants, valued at $7.65 billion, are one of the NFL’s most iconic franchises. Even a minority stake could carry serious weight, especially with a Hall of Famer like Strahan involved.
Lasry, who sold his stake in the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023, has reportedly been on a sports investment spree and now has his sights set on the NFL. His firm, Avenue Capital, reportedly manages over $11 billion, and he’s raised nearly $450 million for sports-related ventures.
Strahan, who spent his entire 15-year career with the Giants and retired after their 2007 Super Bowl win, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014. Now a media powerhouse on Good Morning America and Fox NFL Sunday, he’s clearly not done making big plays.
Are you rooting for Michael Strahan to score a seat at the Giants’ ownership table?
