Diddy’s Radio Play Drops 86% As S*x Trafficking Trial Begins, Music Catalog Earnings Expected To Follow
Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing more than just legal troubles.
According to newly published data from Luminate, reviewed by Billboard, the music mogul’s airplay has plummeted as his federal s*x trafficking and RICO trial gets underway this week, with his catalog earnings expected to follow.
The report states that Diddy’s radio airplay has dropped a staggering 86% compared to last year. As a result, revenue from his catalog, once a multi-million dollar income stream, is now in jeopardy.
Between 2021 and 2023, Diddy reportedly earned around $3 million annually from master recordings and publishing tied to streams, sales, and radio play. But the sharp decline in airplay suggests the ongoing accusations are affecting his ability to profit from past hits.

As a refresher, Diddy is currently on trial facing serious federal charges, including allegations of s*x trafficking, s*xual ab*se, and involvement in a criminal enterprise under the RICO Act. Jury selection is expected to wrap this week, with opening statements set to begin Monday, May 12.
Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has publicly denied all allegations, even rejecting a plea deal ahead of trial.
