Halle Berry Weighs In On The Idea Of A Female James Bond: ‘I Don’t Really Know If That’s The Right Thing To Do’
Halle Berry isn’t totally sold on the idea of James Bond being played by a woman.
While speaking at a press conference on Tuesday (May 13) during the Cannes Film Festival, the Die Another Day star was asked if she’d be open to stepping into the Bond role herself, following her iconic turn as Jinx alongside Pierce Brosnan in the 2002 film. She responded:
“In 2025, it’s nice to say, ‘Oh, he should be a woman, but I don’t really know if I think that’s the right thing to do.”
The Oscar winner also reflected on the possibility of a Jinx spin-off when asked, a project that once generated buzz but never materialized. She stated:
“There was a time where that could’ve happened, probably should’ve happened, I would’ve loved for that to happen, but I think that time has passed.”

What do you think? Should James Bond ever be reimagined as a woman? Or is the role best left as-is?
