Lil Durk Seeks Bond For The 3rd Time In Federal M*rder-For-Hire Case, Requests New Judge To Overrule Previous Denial
Lil Durk is making a third attempt at bond in his federal m*rder-for-hire case, now asking a District Judge to reconsider a prior decision by Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue, who denied bond on May 8.
His attorney, Christy O’Connor, filed an “Application for Review or Reconsideration of Order Setting Conditions of Release or Detention” on May 14. Unlike magistrates, District Judges can overrule earlier rulings.
Lil Durk has been jailed since October 2024, accused of financing a 2022 ambush that k*lled Quando Rondo’s cousin Lul Pab, allegedly in retaliation for King Von’s 2020 d*ath. At the May 8 hearing, his team proposed a $2 million bond package including $900K in real estate, $1M from Alamo Records, and $150K from a business associate, plus private security and electronic monitoring. Judge Donahue denied it, citing safety concerns and Lil Durk’s ties to v*olence.
The rapper previously sought bond in December 2024. Lil Durk has pleaded not guilty and faces life or the d*ath penalty.
