A powerful tornado tore through St. Louis Friday (May 16) killing at least five and injuring 10 as severe storms swept the Midwest. Multiple buildings collapsed, hundreds of thousands lost power, and rescue crews continue a massive overnight search effort. Mayor Cara Spencer warned residents to stay off roads amid limited cell service.
The National Weather Service had warned of “extremely dangerous” conditions, with tornadoes and hurricane-force winds. Similar storms caused major damage across states like Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin, where homes were destroyed and power lines downed.
Prayers to all affected by this situation.
