Georgia Woman Hannah Cobb Cleared Of Charges After Fatally $hooting Her Boyfriend, Telvin Osborne, Police Warn Against Riots
Hannah Cobb is no longer facing charges in the fatal $hooting of her boyfriend Telvin Osborne.
District Attorney Jared Williams of Burke County confirmed that a grand jury returned a “no bill” for Cobb, who was previously charged with felony involuntary m@nslaughter:
“As the Grand Jury has spoken, the case is closed.”
The decision has sparked some outrage, with Georgia’s Burke County Sheriff’s Office issuing a warning on Facebook Friday night (May 23):
“We are aware of rumors circulating on social media regarding potential rioting… While we recognize that this outcome may be upsetting or unpopular to some, we strongly urge everyone to refrain from actions that could further harm our community.”
If you recall, Cobb was arrested after authorities responded to a Feb. 23 $hooting at her home in Keysville, GA. Prosecutors detailed a night of clubbing, an argument, and a physical altercation between the couple. Cobb claimed Osborne pulled an 8-inch knife and thre@tened her, telling her in a text,
“You’d better hide.”
Cobb said she locked herself in a bathroom and initially considered harming herself, but when Osborne broke in, she fired one $hot.
Cobb was granted bond earlier this month and ordered to surrender her firearms, but with the grand jury declining charges, officials say the legal case is now closed.
