Keke Palmer & SZA’s ‘One Of Them Days’ Is Getting A Sequel!
It’s official!
TriStar Pictures has confirmed a sequel to the breakout buddy comedy “One of Them Days” is in early development, with Keke Palmer and SZA expected to reprise their roles.
The original film, directed by Lawrence Lamont and penned by Syreeta Singleton, grossed over $50 million and scored a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Centered in South L.A., it followed besties Dreux and Alyssa as they scrambled to cover rent and chase career dreams—drawing praise for its fresh humor and cultural authenticity.
Singleton, whose script came through Sony’s CoCre lab, called the experience “surreal,” saying, “Wow, they really let us shoot a movie in the Jungles.”
TriStar’s Nicole Brown praised the lab’s commitment to nurturing diverse voices: “When we’re patient and invest in talent, then great work can come.” With Issa Rae, Macro Studios, and ColorCreative back onboard, the sequel is gearing up to deliver more magic, laughs—and representation that matters.
