On Instagram, The Wire star shared a video of 19-year-old Malachai Chaney thanking everyone for their support and saying his recovery will be “one of the greatest comebacks.”
In a follow-up post, Chaney shared a photo of Malachai in a wheelchair and opened up about how their life-changing experience has shifted his perspective. “Funny thing is I HAD A ‘PLAN’… NOT realizing it’s all about GOD’s PLAN,” he wrote. “THE MISSION THE MESSAGE THE MOVEMENT IS WAY BIGGER NOW.”
As previously reported, Malachai was thrown the length of a football field when a tornado ripped through their Atlanta-area home. After being found in the woods with broken ribs and memory loss, the teen has since stabilized and continues to recover.
