Tyler Perry’s Lawyer Denies Sexual Assault Allegations From ‘The Oval’ Actor Derek Dixon, Calls $260 Million Lawsuit ‘A Scam’
Tyler Perry’s legal team is shutting down serious allegations of sexual assault and harassment made by an actor he formerly employed.
The media mogul’s attorney issued a strong statement following The Oval star Derek Dixon’s $260 million lawsuit against Tyler, saying:
“This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. But Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”

As previously reported, Derek is suing Tyler and Tyler Perry Studios, accusing them of quid pro quo, workplace sexual harassment, and sexual assault and battery. In the suit, Derek alleges that Tyler made repeated unwanted advances, including crawling into bed with him, touching him inappropriately, and at one point pulling down his pants and saying, “Let it happen.”

Derek claims he told Tyler he wasn’t his “sexual type,” but says he feared rejecting his boss would harm his acting career.

Reactions online have been split. Some users say they’re not surprised by the allegations, claiming Tyler’s shows and films often carry undertones of sexual aggression. Others argue that the evidence laid out in the lawsuit doesn’t clearly support the claims, pointing out that the most it reveals is that Tyler (allegedly) has a romantic interest in men.
What’s your take on the situation?
