Donald Trump Suggests He May Deport Elon Musk & End His Government Contracts Amid Their Feud Over EV Mandate
Just weeks after Donald Trump and Elon Musk traded social media jabs over the EV mandate, the president is now suggesting he might deport the billionaire tech mogul.
While speaking to reporters on Tuesday (July 1), Trump was asked whether he’d consider deporting Musk following their clash over the Republican-led “Big Beautiful Bill.” He replied:
“I’ll have to take a look… we might have to put DOGE on Elon… DOGE is the monster that might have to come back and eat Elon. Wouldn’t that be terrible?”
Trump claimed Musk is “very upset that the EV mandate is going to be terminated,” a key issue that’s fueled recent public tension between the once-friendly pair.

The legislation in question, which has yet to pass, seeks to roll back several clean energy efforts introduced under the Biden administration. It would eliminate or reduce tax credits for EV purchases and charging infrastructure, potentially threatening Musk’s massive stake in the electric vehicle industry.

In a fiery X post, Musk blasted the bill, writing:
“It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!!”
Trump fired back on Truth Social, suggesting he’ll pull Elon’s government contracts. Musk, who is a naturalized U.S. citizen, responded with a jab of his own, posting:
“So tempting to escalate this. So, so tempting. But I will refrain for now.”
What are your thoughts on Trump and Elon’s most recent fight?
