Julian McMahon, Star Of ‘Nip/Tuck’ & ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ Dies At 56 After Private Battle w/ Cancer
Julian McMahon, the Australian actor known for standout roles in “Nip/Tuck,” “Charmed,” and as Dr. Doom in the “Fantastic Four” films, died on July 2 in Clearwater, Florida, after a private cancer battle. He was 56.
“With an open heart, I wish to share… my beloved husband… died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,” his wife, Kelly McMahon, said. “Julian loved life… and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.”
Born in Sydney in 1968, McMahon launched his acting career after modeling, appearing in Australian soaps “The Power, the Passion” and “Home and Away,” before moving to the U.S. and joining “Another World” and “Profiler.”
His fame soared on “Nip/Tuck,” earning him a Golden Globe nod, and continued with “FBI: Most Wanted.”
“He will be missed,” said “FBI” creator Dick Wolf.
