Shannon Sharpe’s $exual A$$ault Accuser Fails To Appear In Court As Judge Delays Trial 45 Days
Shannon Sharpe’s accuser failed to appear in court on July 9, with her attorney also absent from the downtown Las Vegas courtroom.
Only Sharpe’s lawyer, Robert DeMarco, attended the hearing. Clark County District Court Judge Anna Albertson postponed the case for 45 days, with the next hearing now set for September 3.
Judge Albertson reportedly expressed disappointment, and legal analysts questioned the accuser’s strategy. “Whether to set up a settlement conference or to set hearings for litigation, you’d expect all parties to be present,” attorney Robert Draskovich told KLAS-TV. “I can’t see a tactical advantage to be gained by failing to appear.”
Draskovich added that Sharpe’s out-of-state legal team might not sit well with the judge. “Generally, it’s better to have home-grown counsel,” he said.
Jane Doe filed the lawsuit in April 2025, accusing Sharpe of a$$ault and s*xual battery. Sharpe responded publicly, stating,
“This is a shakedown… I’m going to defend myself, because this isn’t right.”
