T.I. & Tiny Reject $1 Offer As Judge Slashes $71 Million OMG Girlz Verdict + Case Headed For 4th Trial

T.I. & Tiny Reject $1 Offer As Judge Slashes $71 Million OMG Girlz Verdict + Case Headed For 4th Trial
It appears a fourth trial is on the horizon in the OMG Girlz case. Lawyers for T.I. and Tiny rejected a symbolic $1 offer after a judge struck down $53.6 million in punitive damages.
While the $17.8 million awarded for actual damages still stands, a new trial is likely to determine punitive damages.
“When we took on MGA Entertainment, we stood up for the OMG Girlz but also for something bigger. We stood up for every creative who wants to protect their vision and brand from unfair use without recognition and compensation,” T.I. and Tiny’s legal team stated.
They emphasized the broader impact: “The OMG Girlz’ lawsuit shows just how hard it is for creatives, especially Black artists and young entrepreneurs, to protect their intellectual property from billion-dollar corporations.”
Despite the setback, they remain confident: “We expect another jury will be similarly offended by MGA’s maliciousness and copying.”
