Bad Bunny’s 30-Night Residency In Puerto Rico Projected To Inject Over $200 Million Into Island’s Economy, Attracting 600,000 Visitors & Boosting Hotel Bookings By 70%
Sheesh!
Bad Bunny’s 30-show residency in Puerto Rico is shaping up to be a major economic event. According to CNN, the Grammy-winning superstar is projected to bring in over $200 million for the island. Discover Puerto Rico, the island’s tourism board, estimates that around 600,000 people will visit specifically for the residency—double the typical visitor count for this time of year.
That figure only accounts for hotel packages booked through the production’s partnered firm, meaning the actual impact could be even greater. Hotel occupancy has surged by 70% compared to the same period last year, with rooms selling out months in advance after the shows were announced in January.
During the July 11 opening night, Bad Bunny was joined onstage by LeBron James, who danced and sipped a drink during the performance. The residency runs through September 14, offering a rare chance to see the artist live, as his newly announced World Tour will not include any U.S. mainland stops.
