Paranormal Investigator Dan Rivera Suddenly Dies At 54 While Touring w/ Infamous ‘Haunted’ Annabelle Doll

The paranormal community is mourning the sudden loss of Dan Rivera, a longtime investigator with the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), who passed away over the weekend while on tour with the allegedly haunted Annabelle doll.

According to reports, Dan was found dead in his Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, hotel room on Sunday night (July 13), shortly after presenting the doll to a sold-out crowd during the ongoing Devils on the Run national tour. Pennsylvania State Police said there was “nothing unusual or suspicious” at the scene, and autopsy results are still pending.

Dan was a lead investigator with NESPR and studied under the late Lorraine Warren, one-half of the famed paranormal duo Ed and Lorraine Warren, whose real-life ghost hunts inspired The Conjuring movie franchise.

Despite his passing, NESPR confirmed in a statement that the tour will continue as planned:

“We do not know what the future of NESPR will look like without Dan, but we do plan to move forward with the events previously scheduled for this year.”

The organization added:

“We believe with all our hearts that Dan would have wanted the work to continue — bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and honoring the memory of Ed & Lorraine Warren.”

Annabelle’s next stops include the Maine Paranormal & Horror Convention on September 6–7, followed by events in Illinois and Kentucky this October.

Do you believe there’s some truth to Annabelle’s haunted history?
