The courtroom drama around Cardi B’s civil assault trial continues.
——————————-
Psychiatrist James Rosenberg testified as a defense witness and told jurors he doesn’t believe the plaintiff, Emani Ellis, suffers from PTSD.
——————————-
Ellis, a former security guard, claims Cardi scratched her face with a long fingernail during a February 2018 dispute at a medical facility where Cardi was for a pregnancy checkup.
——————————-
Rosenberg explained that after evaluating Ellis for about six hours in 2023, he found “no significant evidence” that she sustained an emotional injury.
——————————-
He noted that Ellis reported traveling to Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Mexico, and also taking on a more demanding job since the alleged incident. According to his testimony, those activities are inconsistent with the symptoms of severe PTSD, which often include withdrawing from others, avoiding social interaction, and struggling to maintain employment.
——————————-
Ellis is suing Cardi B for $24 million in damages. Jurors will return to Los Angeles County Superior Court in Alhambra, California, next week to hear closing arguments. *If you’ve been following the trial, which way do you think it’s leaning?* ?
