Speaking with Good Morning America’s #RobinRoberts, in her first interview since his passing, she clarified that Warner’s 8-year-old daughter was not in the water when the incident occurred. Warner, an inexperienced swimmer, was caught in a strong undertow and sadly struggled to resurface. He was eventually pulled from the water by bystanders, and despite efforts to resuscitate him, #TheCosbyShow star was later pronounced de@d.
Pamela described the moment she learned of his passing as a scream “from the bottom of my soul.” She added: “The spiritual part of it was – that was his time. This is what I believe and what I feel.”
In the wake of this tragedy, Warner’s widow, Tenisha, and their daughter have launched the Warner Family Foundation and River & Ember. These initiatives aim to support arts education and emotional well-being for children, honoring Warner’s legacy. Pamela has also started the “#MalcolmJamalWarner Living Legacy” Instagram account to celebrate his life and contributions.
