During a recent appearance on “Yung Joc’s Streetz Morning Takeover,” the former “Empire” star addressed lingering backlash surrounding his 2019 att*ck allegations.
Smollett thanked his supporters, but admitted that people who still believe the att*ck was a hoax cannot be swayed to believe otherwise.
While legal proceedings and public opinion have heavily impacted his career, Smollett emphasized that moving on is his focus.
In 2019, the actor claimed he was the victim of a hate crime in Chicago. However, investigators later determined the att*ck was staged, and Smollett was accused of orchestrating the incident with two acquaintances. He was ultimately sentenced to 150 days in jail but was released after just six days in March 2022 while appealing his conviction. In November 2024, his conviction was overturned. What are your thoughts on his legal drama?
