[UPDATE] Family Speaks Out After Missing 23-Year-Old Kada Scott’s Body Is Found Near Vacant Philadelphia Middle School: ‘Our Hearts Are Shattered’
Sad news in the case of missing 23-year-old #KadaScott.
A body discovered in a shallow grave near the abandoned Ada H. Lewis Middle School in Philadelphia’s East Germantown neighborhood has been confirmed as that of Scott, who had been missing since early October. Police sources say the remains were identified through DNA testing after tips led investigators to the location.
Scott’s family released a statement saying, “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved daughter, Kada Scott. We kindly ask for space and privacy at this time as we process the heartbreaking events of the past few weeks. Our hearts are shattered, yet we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers from people across the nation and around the world.” They added, “Kada was deeply loved. Her light, kindness, and beautiful spirit will forever remain in our hearts.”
Investigators allege that #KeonKing, 21, is connected to Scott’s disappearance. He’s currently behind bars on kidnapping, stalking, arson, causing catastrophe, conspiracy, and tampering with evidence charges. Officials say King, who also faced charges in a separate kidnapping case, was the last person known to have contacted Scott. At this time, homicide charges have not yet been filed, but they’re expected to come. “We are not done,” Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner stated.
