Kevin Durant Lands Netflix Docu Exploring His Rise, Legacy, & Life Beyond the Court

Streaming giant Netflix has announced an ambitious documentary series centered on NBA star Kevin Durant. The show will be produced in collaboration with OBB Pictures and Boardroom and will trace the many phases of Durant’s life — from his upbringing in the Washington, D.C./Maryland region, through his college career at the University of Texas, to his rise as one of basketball’s most dominant figures.

Filming for the series began prior to the 2023-24 NBA season and ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, with production set to continue through Durant’s current team and into future seasons as he moves toward the later chapters of his career.

Durant comes into this project with an extensive résumé: two NBA championships, 15 All-Star appearances, an MVP award, two Finals MVP honors, four Olympic gold medals, and status as the all-time leading Olympic scorer for Team USA.

The series will feature some of Durant’s most open and revealing interviews, accompanied by commentary from his family, coaches, and teammates, offering viewers a thoughtful exploration of both his on-court excellence and personal journey.
