Man Who Grabbed Ariana Grande At Recent “Wicked: For Good” Premiere Sentenced To 9 Days In Singapore Jail
One #ArianaGrande superfan will have nine days behind bars to reflect on his behavior.
A 26-year-old #Australian man named Johnson Wen has been sentenced to nine days in jail after jumping a barricade and rushing toward Ariana Grande at the red-carpet premiere of #Wicked: For Good in Singapore.
The court found Wen guilty of being a public nuisance. As reported, video showed him leaping over a barrier at Universal Studios Singapore, running toward Grande, and grabbing her. #CynthiaErivo had to intervene to protect Grande before security stepped in to remove Wen.
What makes it even crazier is that Wen has a history of disrupting public events and concerts, frequently posting videos of his stunts under the name “Pyjama Mann.” The incident at the premiere triggered strong online backlash, with many condemning his behavior as dangerous and attention-seeking.
Do you think his sentence was enough? Or should the punishment have been harsher?
