Oprah Celebrates 72 By Flexing Her Strength Training Skills

 

#OprahWinfrey has come a long way from not knowing what a deadlift was.

Ringing in her 72nd birthday, she shared footage of herself strength training, lifting heavy as her trainer guided her through the deadlift. Captioning the post, Oprah wrote, “Life at 72 is looking different than every other decade. Two summers and two new knees ago, I decided to add strength training to my workouts because we all need to maintain muscle as we get older.”

A few years ago, #Adele unknowingly introduced Oprah to the deadlift, revealing in an interview that she can lift roughly 170 pounds, a feat that apparently shocked the TV icon at the time. Now, #Oprah admitted she’s “not ready for the Olympics like Adele,” but said she does “feel stronger.”
