The latest installment of ID’s Hollywood Demons: After the Bell is taking a closer look at #DustinDiamond’s final days.

Dustin was best known for playing Screech, first appearing in 1988’s Good Morning, Miss Bliss before continuing the role in the hit spin-off #SavedbytheBell. In 2009, he released a tell-all book about his co-stars that included allegations of dr*g use and other scandalous claims. In January 2021, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lung cancer and d!ed just one month later. In Hollywood Demons, a close friend of Dustin’s revealed that #LarkVoorhies — who played Lisa Turtle — was the only cast member to reach out before his passing.

She was a really good person and she left a voicemail for him,” he said. “We played it for [Dustin] before he died and he enjoyed it,” the friend continued, adding, “She was the only one that really reached out to him and was really heartfelt.” Lark also reflected on his de@th in the docuseries, saying, “When he died of cancer, that hurt,” while noting that despite their differences, the cast honored his character during the second season of the Saved by the Bell revival, which aired from 2020 to 2021.
