LeBron James Goes Off Over Bronny Nepotism Criticism: ‘I’m Not Letting That Sh*t Slide’
LeBron James is making it clear that criticism of Bronny James’ NBA journey will not turn into attacks on his family.
In a new interview with Time for “The 100 Most Influential People in Sports 2026,” the Los Angeles Lakers star called playing alongside his 21-year-old son the greatest moment of his career.
“Out of all the sh*t I’ve done in basketball, that’s the best accomplishment I’ve ever had,” LeBron, 41, said. He added, “The kid has earned his right to be a professional athlete.”
Bronny, drafted by the Lakers with the 55th pick in 2024, has faced nepotism talk while coming off the bench. LeBron said critics can question basketball, but not fatherhood.
“The thing you’re not going to do is throw stones at us as a family,” he said. “I’m not letting that sh*t slide, because I know what I’ve created because of what I didn’t have.”
He added, “So if you want to talk about the kid, that he shouldn’t be an NBA player, I don’t care about that. As long as you don’t get to the fatherhood piece. I don’t play those games.”
Is LeBron speaking facts?
