Jay-Z & Beyoncé’s East Hampton Estate Targeted After Man Crashes Through Front Security Gate

A man is facing criminal charges after authorities say he crashed through the front security gate of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s East Hampton estate earlier this week. Police say it’s still unclear whether the property—or the superstar couple—was intentionally targeted.

According to the East Hampton Village Police Department, the 63-year-old Bronx man drove his Subaru at a high rate of speed through the couple’s closed mechanical gate, causing significant damage to the entrance. Security personnel confronted the driver, who reportedly complied with instructions to exit the vehicle before officers arrived. He was later arrested on charges of criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

Detective Sgt. Jennifer Dunn said the man appeared “confused” during the incident and made no threats or references to Jay-Z or Beyoncé. Investigators also found no weapons or notes in the vehicle. Police traced the man’s movements using license plate reader technology and learned he had spent hours driving around the East Hampton area before the crash. Earlier that day, he reportedly approached another nearby residence asking for a woman before leaving without incident. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing and have not determined whether a medical issue may have played a role.

It’s unknown whether Jay-Z or Beyoncé were home when the incident occurred. The couple purchased the sprawling East Hampton property in 2017, and neither has publicly commented on the gate crash.
