Aretha Franklin Sings Her Heart Out to Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”

On Sunday, the 70-year-old ‘Queen of Soul’, Aretha Franklin, closed out the 2012 Essence Music Festival. As is customary for the legendary singer, Aretha went through a number of classic hits and even brought forth a tear-jerking performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. And on a more shallow and light-hearted note, very briefly Aretha got a little snippy with the organizers of Essence Music Festival. Things were going smoothly, until the middle of the set. Apparently, she does not perform with the air conditioning (AC), especially on full blast. During her set, she chastised Essence telling them,
“Turn the air down on the stage……so that I don’t have to leave the stage!”
LOL, straight like that. She later continued and it was all good :) Check back later for the video!
