Sarah Palin Gives First Lady and Common the ‘Middle Finger’
Tuesday, Sarah Palin took to Twitter to express her displeasure for Michelle Obama’s recent White House guest. Who, you may ask? The First Lady invited rapper/activist/actor Common to participate in her event celebrating poetry. Why does Palin give an eff? Back in 2007, Common penned a song called “Letter to the Law,” where he took shots at former President George W. Bush. In the song (Tucker Carlson found the transcription), Common rhymes, “Seeing a fiend being hung/With that happening, why they messing with Saddam?/Burn a Bush ’cause for peace he no push no button/Killing over oil and grease/no weapons of destruction/How can we follow a leader when this a corrupt one.”
Apparently, this song is the reason why Palin was none too pleased that the First Lady would invite Common to the White House. Palin tweeted: “Oh lovely, White House…” then linked back to a story ran by ‘The Daily Caller’ that discussed Common’s non-American (my words, not theirs) lyrics. Common, who was aware of Palin’s comments tweeted to CNN’s Roland Martin, “So apparently Sarah Palin and Fox News doesn’t like me.” Source
