J.Cole Performs on Jimmy Kimmel, Gets Props From Jay-Z and Beyonce

Wednesday night, must have been an amazing night for J.Cole. Yesterday, news hit that his album, “Cole World: The Sideline Story,” hit No. 1. Then, he performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Above, peep the clip of him performing, “Cole World.” Meanwhile, everybody and their mama congratulated him on his album’s success: his mentor, Jay-Z, manager, Mark Pitts, and even the Queen B (Beyonce Knowles) herself. In a press release with MTV News, Hov released his reaction to Cole’s success saying,

“J. Cole’s success is testament to amazing artist development and Cole’s hard work. I want to congratulate him on a #1 album and more importantly a great body of work.”

His producer Mark Pitts, who is also president of urban music at Sony/Jive and CEO of Bystorm Entertainment, also gave a statement on his client’s success.

“J. Cole personifies humility and grace with edge and depth….As an MC, his point of view speaks to and represents me. I’m proud and blessed to be a part of his journey.”

In a call-in interview to Angie Martinez’ radio show on Hot 97 to react to his album’s success, Cole also revealed his joy over receiving additional congratulations from Beyonce.

“I got the Jay-Z call, got the Mark Pitts congratulations conversation, got the Beyonce congratulations email. That was a good look…She’s the best, man. She’s the nicest lady. For real, it’s unbelievable.”
