Ladies’ First ::: Adele, Katy Perry & Lady Gaga Lead AMA Nods
The 2011 American Music Awards is looking to be a big ladies night as the top contenders with four nominations each are Adele, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga. All four of the ladies are in the big category “Artist of the year” with only one male; Lil Wayne. The show will broadcast live November 20 on NBC with Pitbull and Katy Perry already set to perform. Pitbull who is nominated in the “Latin Music: Favorite Artist” and “Pop or Rock Music: Favorite Artist” categories gave a statement expressing his pleasure in being nominated. “It’s an honor to be here with with the king of caliber artists here,” he said of his fellow nominees. “Me, I come to the awards show and I just learn, I watch everyone, I see how they handle their performances and hopefully grab a couple things and apply it to my career. So to be here nominated and to also be performing at the AMAs, I want to thank you.” And Nicki Minaj gave a comment about being nominated in both categories; “Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist” and “Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album” with Lil Wayne saying,
“I don’t know, he’s won enough. He’s been winning for 10 years, so he can move to the side and let me win, hopefully.”
Well, winners are picked through online voting on the award’s website where you can see the other nominees and cast your votes. Here’s footage of Pit Bull and Nicki Minaj’s tits presenting:
