Starring Lil Wayne, Birdman Announces YMCMB Movie, “Rich Gang”

Apparently Birdman‘s goal is to turn Cash Money into the most diverse company on the planet. Several artists have recently been signed to the music label such as Mystikal and Busta Rhymes; the book label is taking off with Evelyn Lozada‘s novel; and now a film label has been added. In a recent interview, Birdman talked about the movie projects he plans to release. There has already been talk about a film starring Omar Epps, but the CEO confirmed that the company will be producing a movie titled “Rich Gang,” starring Lil’ Wayne, and featuring all of the other YMCMB members. Of the movie, Birdman said,
“We start shooting that in the fall. That’s the whole team. The Rich Gang movie is about the team. Everybody is going to be the star of it, but Wayne will be the center of it. It’s about the team, everybody that’s on the label… I would like them for just be themselves. I’m not gonna tell no
niggato go to acting school. Just be yourself. We’re excited as a brand about it. We got a few [movies] lined up and we gonna shoot them.”
Hmmm… does this sound like a movie we would enjoy… or just a film full of rappers who can’t really act?
