No Media Allowed :: Family & Friends Lay Donna Summer to Rest In Tennessee

During an invitation only funeral service, family and friends gathered Wednesday afternoon at Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee to pay their last respects to legendary queen of disco, Donna Summer. Producer and one of Donna’s close friends, David Foster, performed “The Prayer” with Natalie Grant and Summer’s sisters sang “We’ve Come This Far By Faith”.

Donna lived in NYC during the 9/11 terrorist attacks and believed the toxic air was to blame for her lung cancer diagnosis. After her death was announced last Thursday, many speculated her smoking habit was to blame. Her family has since shut down those rumors, confirming that Donna was NOT a smoker. Summer is survived by her husband Bruce Sudano, her three daughters – Mimi, Brooklyn (My Wife and Kids) and Amanda – and four grandchildren. She was 63. [TMZ, Washington Post]
