‘Sparkle’ Comes In At Number 5 At Box Office

Over the weekend, Whitney Houston’s final movie, Sparkle, starring Jordin Sparks, grossed $12 million at the box office. It opened on 2,244 screens, grossing $4.5 million on Friday and $200,000 less on Saturday. The film came in number 5, being beat out by debuts of “The Expendables 2”, “ParaNorman” and “The Odd Life of Timothy Green”. Sparkle’s tally was on the low end of expectations. The final numbers for the weekend will be released later on Monday. If you saw ‘Sparkle’ over the weekend, are you surprised at where the film came in at the box office?
