Memphitz Files Multi Million Dollar Lawsuit Against Mona Scott-Young & VH1
The season of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta is officially over, but apparently the drama continues. Memphitz (real name Mickey Wright, the husband of Toya Wright) is filing a lawsuit agains Mona Scott Young’s company Monami Entertainment and VH1’s parent company Viacom.
What are Memphitz’s claims? Compliments of Memphitz’s publicist, he’s suing for defamation of character (on the show, Kim Michelle Pate/K.Michelle speaks about being physically abused by Memphitz, although I’m unsure if she said his ‘name’ on the show). According to the lawsuit, he is asking $1 per viewer, per episode that his character has been defamed (one can assume almost the entire 12-episode season), averaging three to four million viewers. Do.The.Math. According to Attorney Conti J. Moore, Esq., whose practice is based in Orlando, Florida,
“Ms. Pate has taken full advantage of society’s tendency to accept claims of domestic violence as always being true, even in the absence of proof. The only abuse that actually occurred is the malicious and calculated pattern of vicious lies Ms. Pate has assailed for the purpose of fabricating a compelling story line in an attempt to ruin my client’s name.”
In the released statement, Memphitz says:
“My family and I have suffered tremendously while VH1, Monami Entertainment, and the other companies provided a worldwide platform for K. Michelle to repeatedly assassinate my character. The filing of this suit is to compensate for the irreparable damage that has been done to my reputation and to deter these companies from doing such future harm to others.”
Wright maintains that the suit is not about revenge but is instead about defending himself and his professional reputation from the malicious false and misleading statements made about him on the popular VH-1 reality show. Meanwhile, no official responds from K.Michelle or Mona Scott-Young’s camp has been released. What do you think of Memphitz’s suit–fair or uncalled for? Well, if he really didn’t abuse her I totally can understand where he is coming from. BUT if he did, and there is proof out there (according to K Michelle there is), this is just stupid. The truth will eventually come out.
I feel that if he wants to do this then he and his wife should’ve kept her mouth shut. You can’t file a suit for defamation if your wife did the same thing, whether it was retalitation or not. After the first episode he called K Pinocchio, a fictional character who is known for not telling the truth. Then a couple of episodes Toya does an interview calling K crazy and saying she doesn’t have custody of her son. The both of them and close friends have spreading lies and hateful things about K ever since the show aired so why do he fill like HE deserves compensation? If the abuse claims are not true then charge it to the game. But don’t try to act like you or someone from your camp never talked bad about K.
I think he is just embarrassed and if she comes out with the truth that Toya Carter Wright will leave so this law suit is to prove to her he is not that man K.Michelle says he is. I also think he is not that man now because of the fact that lil wayne is the ex husband and he know he can make things happen if he do her wrong or hurt her.

I had NO clue who K was referring to until Memphitz called her pinocchio, and then the interview by Toya. All parties are guilty of slinging mud, so stop crying.

HE DID IT, I believe he did. I saw that show and she was crying, I have been hit by a man before. I believe in my heart he beat her. She might be full of drama, but I believe her.

If he says he didnt do anything i dont know why hes making a big deal out of it. I mean I understand.But at the same time its like why are you getting your panties in a wad because of some he said she said drama as long as you know the truth you shouldnt be worried about people yapping their mouth cause in that case they in your eyes would ignorant and shouldnt be given the attention to go further but if your acting some type of way about then there could possible be some truth to it. And trying to sue them cause of statements they made isnt going to change the fact that they made that statement no one is going to forget it so sueing them isnt going to change anything. Also trying to do all this isnt going to make this problem go away soon cause your still going on and on about it a dragging it on i dont know why you would want to do that if you dont want those kind of statement to be on your shoulders and you want to move on.But if you need some coins to pay rent then go for it
