Shoe Wars ::: Wendy Williams & Halle Berry Both Dropping Shoe Lines

Both talk show host Wendy Williams, 47, and award winning actress Halle Berry, 45, have new shoe lines in the works. Williams is debuting her line Adorn produced by Ashley Taylor & Co. and ISO New York this week at the Fashion Footwear Association of New York Conference. She has kept most of the details of the line under wraps, but she did reveal that her favorite type of shoe will be part of the line and she also plans to cater to women with larger shoe sizes.
“My favorite flats in all the land is pointy toe flats with no heal at all which I will be having in my foot line…..my footwear line which is separate from my accessories line, will be sold in a whole other place…..It’s about [the shoes] fitting, being comfortable and being fabulous. I love shoes, what girl doesn’t?”
.
Halle Berry, on the other hand, has been a little more revealing of her new collection. Berry is in partnership with the German collection Deichmann shoes to design her own line of women’s shoes called 5th Avenue by Halle Berry. She considers this new venture a dream finally accomplished. She told Daily mail,
“Women have always loved shoes. It’s like if your hair is not right and your shoes are not right, the woman is not right. If both of them are right, you’re pretty much OK. And shoes are a statement. They can be very sexy, they can say something about where you are in the day; they can say what your mood is; they give you a chance to accessorize. And i’m a girl that loves to change my shoes all the time. It’s an expression of who you are really. I’m a girl if I find a shoe that I really like I get them in all colors. I’m big on that. I would say I’m a nude girl because this goes with everything. You can dress it up and dress it down. I can’t think of any girl who wouldn’t want her name on a brand of shoes. I think that’s pretty cool.”
The line consists of 40 limited edition shoes with a spring/summer coverage with varying styles from peep toes with wedge heels, high-heeled sandals with straps and high-heeled sling sandals on wedge heels. Berry is currently in Berlin to shoot the ad which she explains,
“….[the line] really relates to my life and who I am as a person and what I do for a living. And I think there’s kind of a fun element to it. And it also speaks to my love of shoes.”
Deichmann shoes is Europe’s largest shoe company with over 50 stores in the UK. The company owner, Heinrich Deichmann expressed his delight in working with Berry saying, “We are very pleased that Halley Berry is our new partner. She is an internationally-renowned artist and a global style icon.”
