After her DC performance, we caught up with singer Brandy and chatted with her about her new album, the fuss about Beyonce’s box braids and what her wedding day will look like.
On her new album, Two Eleven:

The project will be released in October, the album title is called Two Eleven. The new single is out right now on iTunes called “Put it Down” with Chris Brown. I’m just really excited about music and being back with a new sound. The response has been great with the single so I’m just really ready to get out there and promote it and to tour and sing everywhere I can.

On if she has any recording rituals that she does during the recording process:

I don’t like to listen to other peoples music when I’m recording. I don’t want to be influenced.

On what her career in acting allows her to do, that singing doesn’t:

It’s a challenge to be somebody different to bring that character to life and watch it become real. And that’s definitely a challenge because I’m so used to being me all the time. So I have to work at making another character real.¬†On Beyonce’s braids and Blue Ivy…

On wanting to babysit Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy:

I’m like obsessed, I wanna babysit Blue Ivy. I wish I knew B enough so I could watch Blue Ivy, she’s so damn cute!

On her thoughts on Beyonce’s new box-braid, hair style:

I love the braids and I love how Beyonce does different things with her hair. People just want something to complain about. Leave her alone, she doesn’t feel like doing her hair right now. Let her have her braid moment.

On when a woman knows she’s in love:

You just know, I can’t explain it. It’s in your gut. You don’t know how you know that you know, but you know. And you know when you’re not in love.

On when she plans to jump the broom, how she envisions her wedding:

I would love for it to be intimate. I’m a simple girl, I’m not even into the diamonds and stuff. I would love for it to be with people that I know and love. It doesn’t have to be a big thing. Honestly if it were up to me I would just do it and get it out the way.

I always wanted Brandy 2 sing in Spanish, at least 1 song like an acoustic version of Almost Doesn’t Count or Broken Hearted, also an Xmas/Gospel Album is something that would satisfy the stars & her international fans
