It’s election day and tons of US citizens and Americans are tweeting their political excitement. Thanks to social media and the world wide web, folk are tweeting and posting pix of themselves voting for their respective candidates. Tuesday morning, Beyonce shared a photo of her ballot. And while I’m sure it was harmless, when we shared the photo via Twitter, a ton of ppl alerted us that it’s actually illegal. We did a bit of digging and research to see how much truth it is to showing your electoral ballot. Here’s a snapshot of New York state’s law:
And here’s a chart by CitMediaLaw:
Read more here or here. What are your thoughts? Did she accidentally break the law or could you care less, as long as we vote? [@KaytheHardWay]

Jay-Z said, “who you gone tell we top of the totem pole” …in other words nothing will happen to B whether it’s illegal or not *kanye shrug*
LOL well obviously some judges don’t concur with Jay’Z's theorem….because Bey and Jay CLEARLY lost the trademark battle against a small-business owner…..#JustSaying
Actually they didn’t. Idk why all the blogs reported that. They just can’t start up a party planning business, or whatever that lady was
^^exactly
MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE A BETTER LOOK AT THE PHOTO, THAT IS A ABSENTEE BALLOT FOR HARRIS COUNTY TEXAS…NOT FOR NEW YORK!
well – that’s worse! It’s a felony in Texas lol
^^^^^THANK YOU
Yes, but according to the chart Texas prohibits filming or photographs of vote markings as well…..in addition, I believe most states that prohibits filming or photographs of vote markings included ‘contents’ of ballots, and ABSENTEE BALLOTS are clearly CONTENTS of voting ballots. #JustSaying
Damn get over it. The outcome gonna be the same regardless. At least she voted.
P.S. I stared at that photo for 15 minutes and didn’t notice it was from Texas
