[Photos] Actress Angela Bassett & Susan L Taylor Become Members of Delta Sigma Theta
If you’re in the nation’s capital, you’ve seen an abundance of red (crimson) and white (cream). Over the weekend, the women of Delta Sigma Theta (a not-for profit Greek-lettered sorority of college-educated women who perform public service and place emphasis on the African American community) took over DC for their Centennial convention.
The week-long celebration including them inducting a few A list celebs. Actress Angela Bassett and Susan L. Taylor (former Editor-In-Chief of Essence magazine) were inducted and are now proud members of the sorority, founded at Howard University. Other famous Deltas include: Nikki Giovanni, Soledad O’Brien, Betty Shabazz, Lena Horne, Shirley Chisolm and Cicely Tyson. Check out a few photos of DST’s newest members.
