I’ve lived across the street from her aunt and again from her grandmother and they didn’t want her to even sign autographs for the neighborhood kids and we all where darker than her and her family and they told us she didn’t come here for that! not once but twice on two different occasions!

I’d find it more relevant if she was upset and I doubt that he do or say something to upset her after all this time. The fact is he acknowledges the height of his career as a young adult with her, everybody does. Brother just want’s to be relevant. How about Prophet Jones get back together for a tour and stop interjecting unnecessary commentary. love the movie, I really don’t care what anyone say about the parents, the songs were really great, the best movie so far, I watch it four time, save it on my DVR. LOVE YOU GUYS
Here we go….The Lattisaw family just want some recognition…just shut up and enjoy the movie because the comment wasn’t as bad as their making it. Seems someone wants recognition for getting JG career started. I guess since he didn’t give them that in the movie so now they’re butt hurt.

It’s unfortunate that division in our own ranks even exist. I’ve been through that before. My girl friend was as lite as Stacey and, I am as dark as Wesley Snipes. The bothersome issue was her Stepmother was as dark as myself It hurt at the time. She made me feel like, I was NEVER good enough, but life went on. I harbor no ill will AT ALL. I’M REMINDED OF ONE THING AS TOLD BY JOHN IN REVELATIONS. HE HAD HAIR LIKE LAMBS WOOL AND FEET LIKE BRASS. HIS EYES WERE LIKE FLAMING COALS………..NO, I DON’T WORRY…..I LOVE MY DARK COMPLEXION. ……..

Damn I must have missed that part of the movie because I thought he (Johnny) said something to the effect that Stacy’s mom thought that their dating was not good for Stacy’s career. I will definitely be checking that movie out again. I thought it was good.

To the people who are saying they missed the skintone comment in the video, watch closely, it’s very subtle. In the recording studio, Ralph asks Johnny whatever happened to he and Stacy. Johnny replies that her mother didn’t think he was good for her career. He then adds “but I knew what that was about” as he raises his forearm and rubs his skin, making the implication that it was his skintone. Ralph replies “man, that’s messed up.”
