Machine Gun Kelly & Eminem Beef Over Tweet From 2012

Animosity has been brewing between Machine Gun Kelly and his former idol Eminem since 2012 — and it all started with a tweet.

Six years ago, then 22-year-old MGK saw a photo of then 16-year-old Hailie Mathers and apparently liked what he saw. In the since-deleted tweet, Kelly said:

Ok, so I just saw a picture of Eminem’s daughter… and I have to say, she is hot as f*ck, in the most respectful way possible cuz Em is king.

However, that did not sit well with Hailie’s father, Eminem. According to MGK, that tweet caused major problems in his life, including being blackballed from the Eminem-owned Sirius XM radio station, Shade 45.

Last year, a fed up Machine Gun Kelly allegedly sent subliminal shots at Eminem in a song he was featured on with Tech N9ne. In “No Reason” MGK raps:

It’s only one option, you gon’ need a doctor / I ain’t talkin’ ’bout the one from Compton. / I pop cherries and popstars, you popsicles is not hard / Popped in on the top charts out the cop car / To remind y’all you just rap and not God and I don’t care who got bars.

Though he didn’t mention names, MGK made obvious references to Dr. Dre as well as Eminem who referes to himself as “Rap God“.

Last week, Eminem dropped a surprise album, Kamikaze, and everyone who ever doubted him was issued a warning. On the track, “Not Alike”, Eminem officially came for Machine Gun Kelly on wax.

But next time you don’t gotta use Tech N9ne if you wanna come at me with a sub-machine gun  / And I’m talking to you but you already know who the f*** you are, Kelly  / I don’t use sublims and sure as f*** don’t sneak-diss  / But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie.

Upon hearing the diss, MGK, a self-proclaimed Eminem fan, took to Instagram to celebrate with a bottle of champagne.

Little did we know a response was to come. Days later, Machine Gun Kelly dropped “Rap Devil”, a diss track to his former idol playing off the title of Em’s 2013 track, “Rap God”.

About to be 46 years old, dog / Talkin’ bout “I’ma call up Trick Trick” / Man, you sound like a bitch, bitch / Man up and handle your shit / Mad about something I said in 2012 / Took you six years and a surprise album just to come with a diss / Homie we get it, we know that you’re the greatest rapper alive / Fucking dweeb, all you do is read the dictionary and stay inside.
