Despite Family Dispute, Andre 3000 Spotted on Jimi Hendrix Set

Contrary to reports, it looks like everything is a go with Andre 3000 playing the lead in Jimi Hendrix’s biopic. Initially, Hendrix’s family spoke out disputing that a film is in the works. And a few weeks ago, the family released a statement explaining:

“Various media outlets have recently published accounts that indicate a feature length Jimi Hendrix biographical film is nearing production…Experience Hendrix, LLC, the family-owned company entrusted with safeguarding the legacy of Jimi Hendrix and administrator of the Jimi Hendrix music and publishing catalog has made it known many times in the past that no such film, were it to include original music or copyrights created by Jimi Hendrix, can be undertaken without its full participation….Experience Hendrix CEO Janie Hendrix, sister of Jimi Hendrix, and the EH board have not ruled out a “biopic” in the future….though producing partners would, out of necessity, have to involve the company from the inception of any such film project if it is to include original Jimi Hendrix music or compositions.”

But according to other reports AND a number of photos circulating, the film “All Is By My Side” is currently underway. Over the weekend, some photos of Andre on set in Ireland hit. Andre 3 stacks is no new-comer to the big screen, he’s landed significant roles in films like “Four Brothers”, “Semi-Pro” and a few other flicks. Stay tuned for more dets on Andre as Jimi.
