Numbers. Don’t. Lie. ‘Jumping the Broom’ Does Well @ Box Office, Comes in 3rd
According to Box Office Mojo and number of other sources, ‘Jumping the Broom’ did some very impressive numbers this weekend. The film, which was released on May 6, had a production budget of $6.6 million and over the weekend is estimated to have rang in $13,700,000. Directed by Salim Akil, and produced by Tracey Edmonds, Elizabeth Hunter, T.D. Jakes, Glendon Palmer and Curtis Wallace, the film is a romantic comedy about two families who live on opposite sides of the social circle and have to get together for a marriage. Starring Laz Alonso, Paula Patton, Tasha Smith, Loretta Devine and Megan Good, the film came in at number 3, behind “Thor”($66 million this weekend) and “Fast Five” ($32 million).
