Rapper Fabolous Channels His Inner Dr. Phil, Talks Love & Marriage on Twitter
Sunday morning, rapper Fabolous took to twitter to talk love and marriage. Don’t think this is news? Well, it really ain’t EXCEPT–late last week, Fab’s girlfriend/baby momma Emily revealed on VH1’s “Love & Hip-Hop” reunion show that she and Fab had broken up. The reunion show airs Monday evening, but if you’ve watched any of the episodes, it’s painfully obvious that Emily wanted something more from Fabolous in terms of a relationship. She didn’t come out and say validation, but it seemed like she wanted acknowledgement at a minimum. And we don’t knock her. Fast forward to the present day, Fab tweeted (after watching a few marriage related movies) his thoughts on love and marriage. He tweeted: “Fell asleep to “Jumping the Broom”.. Woke up to “The Best Man”.. Marriage movies make gettin married look good..But alot of times in real life, gettin married turns into a Horror Movie!! I’m scared of that…” He went on to say, “I’m not sure Sanaa Lathan wanted to say YES to Taye Diggs marriage proposal in “The Best Man” but he asked her in a spot she couldn’t say NO. A girl saying NO to ur marriage proposal gotta b the illest shit ever.. Definitely give u the #StuckOnStupidFace. Picture a nigga gettin up dusting his knee off saying ‘I ain’t wanna marry yo ass anyway’ Lmaoooo.” In addition to his random thoughts on jumping the broom, he also asked some interesting questions: “Guys, would you stay wit a girl that answers NO to your marriage proposal?? Ladies, would you ever propose to man? If u get engaged but don’t end up goin thru wit the marriage, should the woman keep the ring or give it back?” The discussion of marriage has been argued and discussed for centuries…clearly it works for some, not so much for others. In hip-hop its extremely rare. Do you believe in marriage?
