Book Publishers Want Jennifer Hudson to Discuss Family Tragedy
Jennifer Hudson and her camp are trying to shop around a book concept where the songstress talks about her dramatic weight loss. And while folks think it’s pretty cool that she went down five dress sizes, it just ain’t juicy enough. Publishers seem to be more interested about the story surrounding the tragic death and loss of her family. In 2008, Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donnerson, her older brother, Jason, and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, were killed allegedly by her brother-in-law, William Balfour. Balfour has been indicted for murder. Besides once on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Hudson rarely discusses the tragedy. A publisher insider told Page Six, “It was disappointing. Her book about her diet is really appealing and wonderful. But if you spend a lot of money on the book deal, you want it to sell. With no talk of her family, we didn’t think it was worth it.” To date, no major publishers have agreed to the current book proposal surrounding her weight loss story.
