Columbos’ Peter Falk Dies

Actor Peter Falk, who was well-known as the lead character on the TV series “Columbo”, has died at the age of 83. In addition to playing in ‘Columbo,’ he also starred and appeared in a number of films and TV shows. Twice, he was nominated for an Academy Award (Murder, Inc. and Pocketful of Miracles, two films from the 60’s), and he won an Emmy Award five times (four of which were for Columbo) and a Golden Globe. According to a statement released by his friend, he died peacefully in his Beverly Hills home.
