Dave Chappelle Tanks in Stand-Up Routine

Dave Chappelle returned to the comedy circuit in Miami performing at a charity event. Alonzo Mourning booked the comedian to raise funds for his foundation, Zo’s Summer Grove. After the last season of “The Chappelle Show”, you’d expect Chappelle wouldn’t have a problem attracting a crowd and a few laughs….which is exactly why he was booked for the fundraiser.  The event would have been a success if Chappelle was actually funny.  Yes, apparently there is such thing as a not funny Dave Chappele. The guest list included TV One, Tom Joyner’s Morning Show and CNN Analyst, Roland Martin, who defended Chappelle’s not so funny set.

Others, found his set not so funny and were heard yelling, “Can you tell a joke so we can enjoy ourselves! Dave, we’re trying to figure out what we’ve listened to for the last 25 minutes.” Dave replied “This crowd is as serious as hell.” Yikes. We all have bad days…. Maybe he was just off? Source
